K-Tech Suspension Linear Steering Damper Kit '14-'20 Yamaha FZ-09 / MT-09 K-Tech steering dampers are a lightweight aluminum design available for many applications, manufactured in conjunction with Toby Dampers. Available in seven lengths for road and race use they are fully serviceable and come supplied with all the necessary mounting components to fit the make and model of the motorcycle. K-Tech Suspension Steering Dampers are precision crafted to exacting tolerances for incredible control and consistent performance under the most demanding street and race conditions. The bodies of the K-Tech linear steering dampers are made from aerospace grade 7075 aluminum which is CNC machined and reamed to a tolerance of 5 microns, and then highly polished to a high gloss to reduce friction (internal surfaces). The body of the damper is then anodized for corrosion resistance and great looks. The internal expansion reservoir allows for heated oil expansion, and automatically moves cool oil back to the damper body. The specially selected CK45 steel shaft has superior strength and hardness, and allows for size accuracy and concentricity - which helps to minimize wear and reduce friction - and is also highly polished. The ball joint end is self-lubricating to eliminate grease nipples, and sourced from Japan. Kits for specific motorcycles will include a K-Tech Suspension linear steering damper (in the required length and stroke) as well as precision CNC machined billet aluminum brackets, anodized for protection, and the necessary hardware for installation to your machine. K-Tech Suspension linear steering dampers are also available separately as replacements or for custom applications.
