Cycle World dyno charts
Every new motorcycle Cycle World tests goes on their Dynojet 250i rear-wheel dyno. Measured horsepower and torque, not manufacturer claims.
Manufacturer power figures are measured at the crank under conditions you will never ride in. Rear-wheel dyno numbers, measured consistently on the same equipment, are the closer comparison — and Cycle World has been publishing them for years, running every bike they test on a Dynojet 250i.
We link rather than reproduce. These are their measurements, taken on their equipment, and reprinting them here would be presenting someone else's testing as our own. It is also the only honest option available to us: this site does not own a dyno.
Read their charts with the usual caveats. A rear-wheel figure is not comparable to a crank figure. Ambient conditions, fuel, tyre and even dyno type change the result. And the shape of the curve matters far more than the peak number for how a bike actually feels on the road.
