BT Moto: Yamaha R9 dyno and GPS results
Stock rear-wheel numbers and GPS acceleration times, before and after a flash, published by the company that sells it.
BT Moto put a stock R9 on a dyno and timed it with a GPS logger, then repeated both after installing its own Stage 1+ ECU flash, with the stock exhaust still fitted.
Stock, the article reports 110 hp and 66 lb-ft at the rear wheel, against Yamaha's claim of 117 hp at the crank. After the flash it reports 113 hp and 67 lb-ft, with larger gains of roughly 4 to 6 hp at part throttle.
The GPS times are the more useful part. 20 to 100 mph fell from 7.2 to 6.2 seconds, and 60 to 130 mph from 9.5 to 9.2. GPS top speed went from 141 to 144 mph, against a dash that read closer to 150.
Read it knowing who wrote it. BT Moto sells the flash it tested, and its product page quotes different before-and-after numbers from the article. The article does not say which dyno, gear or fuel was used.
