2 Wheel Dynoworks: Yamaha R9 ECU flash

A US tuning shop's mail-in flash for the R9, with stock-versus-tuned dyno runs on its page.

2 Wheel Dynoworks (2WDW), a tuning shop in Kirkland, Washington, offers a mail-in ECU flash for the Yamaha R9. You remove the ECU, send it in with a note of your intake and exhaust, and it comes back mapped for that setup.

The flash rewrites the fuel, ignition timing, electronic throttle and engine-braking maps, and adjusts idle speed and fan temperature. It also switches off the top speed limiter, deceleration fuel cut and closed-loop operation.

Their page carries dyno videos comparing stock and tuned runs, including a 2nd-gear pull and full-exhaust comparisons. It does not list the figures in text, so watch the runs rather than relying on a number quoted secondhand.

Worth knowing: 2WDW sells this flash, and lists it for closed-course competition use only, not for public roads.
